Traffic Manners

Since the dawn of civilization, craving towards advancement has been one of the prime characteristic of Human Beings. The term ‘Traffic’ has been an integral part of this process of achieving the never-ending dream of advancement. Thus, there is a necessity for each and every individual to have knowledge about Traffic Rules as well as Traffic Manners. These rules and manners apply not only to streets and roads but also to all the places where traffic is possible – on forest and unpaved roads, ice crossings, fields and enclosed areas.

It has been often observed that both these terms i.e. Traffic Rules and Traffic Manners are considered as same, but there are many differences between both these terms. Traffic Rule is something which is considered as an external term because generally individuals are required to be educated about the existing rules and regulations by their parents, teachers or the society they live in while Traffic Manner is something which is considered as an internal term i.e. it is supposed to be a part of individual’s own ettiquates, values and societal upbringing. The knowledge about Traffic Rules amonst the citizens is somehow in the hands of the government of a nation. But the knowledge about Traffic Manners amongst the citizens is not totally in the hands of Government and NGOs, they can just try to make people aware about the existence of a term like ‘Traffic Manners’. NGOs and Government authorities can do activities like giving advertisements on Television for awareness about Traffic Manners, distributing paper bags and making people learn about the concept of spitting in paperbags in order to achieve cleanliness or they can make the children learn about some basic Traffic Manners so that they can implement those in their lives because they are going to be the upcoming youths of the nation, who have got enough courage and enthusiasm to make change in the society. But all these attempts of Government authrities and NGOs are of no use, unless and until people themselves start behaving in a way which is beneficial for the upliftment of the society as well as the roads of our country.

It is high time, each and every person should understand about the urgent requirement of implementation of Traffic Manners in their day to day life. In this race of advancement, the terms Traffic Manners and Rules seem like vanished somewhere. Though Government and NGOs are trying their best in educating people about the term Traffic Manners, but it is not possible by the attempts of them alone, the society is also required to unite itself for this noble cause and take part in activity of impeaching this term which is for the betterment of the mankind.
