Road rage can be described as one driver deliberately wanting to hurt or cause pain physical and or mental to another driver or a pedestrian. The term Road Rage was coined by local news station KTLA in Los Angeles (safemotorist.com, n.d.).
We will further discuss forms of road rage these are the most common ones but a lot more are present, which are as follows:
1. Tailgating: it is the practice to drive very close to another vehicle. This can lead to accidents.
2. Yelling: we see a lot of times people yelling at each other on the road in a traffic jam or in times of accidents, etc.
3. Hand Gestures: Offenders of road rage do this very commonly. Aggressive hand gestures are something we see on our roads very commonly.
4. Cutting lanes: We see drivers who want to change lanes but instead of doing the right way swerve cars around as and when they please without any indication. These wrong ways of changing lanes can be called cutting lanes.
5. Confrontation: These confrontations happen so often. Drivers get so confrontational on the smallest of the inconvenience. When we are on the road sometimes even when we are not at fault and some other driver does something ridiculous it is our responsibility to keep our heads cool and not get confrontational.
6. Honking: Imagine you driving and there is a traffic jam and some driver keeps honking knowing that it is not possible to move forward or there is some driver honking while waiting at a slight. It is very frustrating but we should be able to control it.
We should be very cautious while driving on the road not just for our own safety but also for the safety of others.
